Housecleaning time

Wait a minute.  I don't like cleaning house.  I'm a terrible house-cleaner.  Truly terrible.  So I refuse.  I'm not cleaning until I have to.  I just cleaned it last week, for Pete's sake.  I can't say I did that good a job of it then, even though the Bunko Babes were coming over.  I should be good until those Keno Krazies show up in a couple of weeks, right?

I put socks on Kaylee's hands..the only way any dusting ever gets done around here.

Oh, never mind.  That's not what this post is about at all, at least not about cleaning the house that I live in.  It's really about cleaning up this space.  This space right here in the blogosphere.  More specifically the sidebar, where that really lengthy blog roll resides.  I'm fed up with clicking on those blogs that haven't been updated in a year.  Not to mention the one that suddenly says I'm not authorized to view it.  I don't even really like those that have a page that says "You're on your way to TypePad".  Really, that wouldn't be so bad if my U-Promise TurboSaver thingy didn't insist on telling me how much money I could save there.  I don't need to save money hosting my blog there, when it's free here, all right?  Of course, if it's a really good blog, I won't delete it just because of that TypePad thing.

So that space that says  "a few too many of my favorite blogs" is about to have fewer of those blogs in it.  Of course, I don't guarantee that it will stay in its shortened state for long.  You should see how many blogs I'm actually following.

My question for you, dear readers (all four of you) you actually check out any of the blogs that I list in my blog roll?  Do you only want to see certain types of blogs listed?  Would you like to see them categorized in any way?  Do you have some terrific blogs that you're following that deserve a spot on my blog roll?  Let me know about them, please!

Well, off I go to see who's going to get the ax.  I'm sure I won't hurt anyone's feelings, since they probably never read my blog anyway.  I'll be sure to put some nice cushy socks on my hands while I do the dirty work.

In other words

This little girl will be 20 months old next week.  That hardly seems possible.  But she's growing so fast and learning so much.  Last week she started Parents' Day Out, which she loves, with four other little girls and four little boys.

She talks all the time....well, she's always talked a lot, it's just that she's finally using more of our language than her own.  Learning English is hard, but she adapts.  Here are some of the words in her almost-20-month vocabulary, with their translations....

Mimmie = Minnie Mouse, her most favorite character of all
nink = drink
nanket = blanket
backback = backpack, either the tiny toddler-sized one she carries to PDO, or Dora the Explorer
Boop = Boots, Dora's monkey sidekick
deet-deet = her pacifier
beeb = bib
bapple = apple
Yanney, Mama & Mamoo = me, a.k.a. Jancey
BopBop = Grampa, a.k.a. Fred
Cici = Gracie, one of the cats at Jancey's house
at = hat, or Cat in the Hat, or her bowl when she's finished eating out of it and puts it on her head
Hey! = Arthur, the aardvark in the cartoon series of the same name
ishies = any fish, or goldfish crackers
nummynummy = anything she likes to eat
hunny = bunny
sheez = cheese
hom = ham
teedee = TV

Of course, she also says plenty of other words correctly, but like her mommy before her, she has to have her own vocabulary.  She's also very interested in learning far she knows O, E and I.  She loves to look at pictures of her mommy and daddy...."My Mommy and MY Daddy!"....and herself (she's Baby in the youngest pictures and Kaydee in current ones).  And she's become a champion at saying "Hi!", "Hello" and "Bye-bye".  She told me "bye-bye" about fifteen times as she was leaving this evening.

Treasury Tuesday

Feeling just a little bluesy on Monday, when I am actually preparing this post.  You thought I'd forget again, didn't you?  Well, I probably would have if it hadn't occurred to me while I was sitting here at the computer wondering how much longer Kaylee would nap.  This Tuesday is a busy, busy day, getting the house as ready as it's going to be for the Bunko Babes tonight, including shopping for salad fixings, beer, wine and dessert, placing my pizza order and picking the little miss up from her new parents' day out class.

Isn't this a lovely way to celebrate the blues?

Going, going, gone.

The craft sale yesterday wasn't especially great as far as sales, but I had a good time and met some really nice people.  Thanks to the friends who came to see me and made some purchases.  It seems like that's the only way I really sell anything (so far) at these things.  Since another friend on Facebook wants to see what I sold, here they are...four pairs of earrings (two of them made a less photogenic appearance in my previous post).
