F. R. I. D. A. Y.

They're back! This blur is from Tuesday, the first day Kaylee and Nolan were back at my house after a five day vacation. They went with Mom and Dad to Port Aransas (Nolan apparently did not care for the beach, but all the boats were a hit..."See boat?"), while I did pretty much nothing, except for an afternoon spent with my parents and an evening spent with the Keno gals.

Oh, I did get new highlights and a slightly shorter bob. Then for Keno I chalked one of my highlights hot pink, since I can't bring myself to go all the way with a bit of permanently crazy color. Only one person noticed...or at least only one person commented. Oh, well. Maybe turquoise next time?

Here are some random things to ponder over the weekend...

The color purple. Not the book or the movie or the musical, not even hair, just a little decorating fun.

More color. I've seen exactly one of these places in person. I don't get around much.

More travel. I've always wanted to go to Spain.

Did you know you can help improve voice recognition software of the future?

I looked for this brownie mix when grocery shopping this week, but no luck, although they did have Bob's Red Mill chocolate cake and shortbread cookie mixes. I bought my old standby Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate, instead. Let me know what you think if you try it, while I keep looking for it.

Do you Spotify? One of my favorite features is the ability to check what's playing at Starbucks (by opening the Starbucks app while in-store, and clicking the music link at the top right). If you want to, you can save it to your Spotify account to play later (yes, you have to have an app for that, too, connected to your Starbucks app). Yesterday this bluesy gem caught my ear. Here it is on YouTube, if you'd prefer to go that route.

Do you love live theater, handmade goods, and great food and drink? If you're in or near Fort Worth this weekend, you can visit me here and help support our local talent.

Whatever you do, have a wonderful weekend!
